There are many new features in this release of Filelocker. The most notable new feature is the new look of the main window. The new window has been reworked to make the application easier to both understand and use. Filelocker now works more like the Windows Explorer program and allows you to organize your locked files into folders. This should make using Filelocker much easier for people who are less computer savvy.
Among other new features in this release are:
Viewing Locked Files without having to Unlock
Improved File Scanning and Searching
Exporting Capabilities (Unlocking without removing from Filelocker)
When setting up a new account in Filelocker the user has an option to choose between different file encryption. The two types include moderate and strong encryption. The difference between the two are simple:
Strong encryption - Uses a more robust encryption algorithm when locking files and in turn may take "slightly" longer on larger files. This difference in time may not be much more than 1 - 10 seconds but will only be evident on files up and over 5 megabytes.
Moderate encryption - Uses an encryption algorithm that is not as complex and is slightly faster on larger files. This difference in time may not even be noticeable on some computers, however the choice has been provided to the user. Keep this in mind when creating a new account and are presented with the following dialog:
Filelocker now allows for multiple users to create separate accounts. Users can now lock files away without having to share locked files with other Filelocker users.

Locking and unlocking now takes less time. Average times have improved, especially for larger files, when performing a lock or unlock operation. The Filelocker application in general should run much faster and be much simpler to use.
Filelocker now allows you to view your locked files without having to unlock (or restore) your files back to the computer. This makes it much easier to keep track of files within Filelocker because files will no longer have to be restored and re-locked when users want to view their files.
File scanning and searching has been made much easier. Users can now use the new search utility to find files on their computers using specified search criteria, and lock files that come back from that search easily.
The Filelocker Help System has been improved with much more help available off-line. The new help allows users to perform searches, browse indexed lists of search words as well as links to all help pages in the Filelocker Help System.
Users can now export their locked files back to the computer without unlocking them from Filelocker. This kind of capability is useful for users that know they will want to unlock files and do not intend on changing them before they re-lock them back to Filelocker. In this case a copy of the file remains locked within Filelocker and an unlocked copy also exists on the computer. When the user no longer needs the unlocked copy they are responsible for deleting it and removing it from the Recycle Bin.
