The File menu contains all of the main Filelocker actions. These actions are:
Selecting the “Lock” item on the File menu locks all
selected files in the File
View of the Actual
File System. If there are no files selected, the user will be
notified.
Or, locking can also be accomplished by right-clicking on the locked file(s) in the Actual File System and selecting "Lock" on the popup menu.

After the operation is complete, all locked files will be visible in the Virtual File System under the selected folder in the Virtual File System.
Selecting the “View” item on the File menu opens the selected files in the Virtual File View. Viewing a locked file does NOT unlock that file. The file is temporarily opened using the associated program and remains locked when that program is exited.

Or, viewing can be accomplished by right-clicking on the locked files in the Virtual File System and selecting "View" on the popup menu.

Selecting the “Export” item on the File menu exports all selected files in the Virtual File View. Exporting files essentially unlocks the files back to the users computer but does NOT remove them from Filelocker. This creates to copies of the file: One that remains locked in Filelocker and another that exists “unlocked” on the users computer.

Or, exporting can be accomplished by right-clicking on the files in the Virtual File View and selecting "Export" on the popup menu.

Selecting the “Unlock” item on the File menu unlocks the selected files in the Virtual File View. The locked files will then be unlocked back to to the computer under the selected folder in the Actual File System.

Or, unlocking can be accomplished by right-clicking on the files in the Virtual File View and selecting "Unlock" on the popup menu.

Selecting the “Delete” item on the File menu deletes locked files permanently from Filelocker. Select the file(s) in the File View within the Virtual File System to be deleted. Select the File menu and click on the "Delete" item.

Or, deleting can be accomplished by right-clicking on the files in the Virtual File View and selecting "Delete" on the popup menu.

Selecting the “New Folder” item on the File menu will create a new virtual folder within the Virtual File System. The new folder will be created directly under the selected folder. In the picture below, the folder "Sample User/word-documents" was selected before the operation.

Or, creating new folders can be accomplished by right-clicking on a folder and selecting "New Folder" on the popup menu.

Once the folder has been created the highlighted text can be changed to the desired folder name.
Important note: Duplicate folder names are not allowed under the same parent folder.
Selecting the “Rename“ item on the File menu edits the currently selected virtual folder and allows the user to change the name.

This can also be accomplished by right-clicking on a folder in the Virtual File System and selecting "Rename" on the popup menu.

The simplest method of renaming a folder is to click on a folder, wait three seconds and click on the folder again. This will cause the folder name to become editable and it can then be changed.

Selecting the “Exit” item on the File menu exits Filelocker.
